2025 Grant Recipient Announcement
Celebrating the 53rd year of grantmaking by The Carrie E. and Lena V. Glenn Foundation, the Board of Directors is happy to announce the 2025 Grant Recipients. Eighteen non-profit organizations serving Gaston County will benefit from grants totaling $230,000. The latest awards bring the Foundation’s contributions to a new milestone over $10 million in contributions to area non-profits since 1972.
Strong Like AK is a first-time grant recipient. Executive Director, and AK’s mother, Kim Webb said, “Strong Like AK is honored to be selected as one of this year’s grant recipients. The generous support of the Carrie E. and Lena V. Glenn Foundation helps us make an even greater impact by providing financial care, housing, and lasting memories for families facing childhood cancer in Gaston County. In honor of Adam Kincaid, our mission is to embrace families battling childhood cancer by offering comfort, easing financial burdens, and creating meaningful memories. Partnerships like this make our work possible, and we are deeply grateful to the Glenn Foundation for investing in the hope and healing of the children and families we serve.”
Other grants will fund the construction of the Spencer Mountain Trail through the Carolina Thread Trail, Home Furnishings Delivery with From Hearts 2 Homes Carolina’s, the Wash Hut at Myers Memorial United Methodist Church, and Meds on the Go at Holy Angels. A complete list of 2024 grants will follow.
“The Glenn Foundation remains committed to carrying forward the legacy of Miss Carrie and Miss Lena by supporting programs that strengthen Gaston County,” said Board Chairperson, Vincent Wong. “Our 2025 grants reflect the sisters’ values of education, fairness, and community service, providing resources where they are most needed to do the most good. We are proud to continue partnering with organizations that promote self-reliance, integrity, and opportunity for all.”
